Plant Stewards Pre-apprenticeship Program
We partner with shelters and community centers across the Baja-Cali region to provide paid pre-apprenticeship positions for asylum seekers, immigrant communities, and individuals who have navigated significant societal challenges. Driven by a determination to serve their communities, these participants engage in practical, hands-on training that culminates in real-world projects.

Portal de Girasoles is an eco-community situated forty-five minutes south of Ensenada, Baja California. Resilient Commons serves as the unifying force for this project, convening stakeholders to facilitate a collaborative design process. Our role is to support these partners in transforming Portal de Girasoles into a bountiful, climate-resilient model.

By balancing commercial success with community-led stewardship, we are helping create an economic anchor that sustains the people and the land it occupies.
